New Delhi: Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani on Friday criticised the Congress for staging a protest without shirts outside Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan's residence.
"Boys from Congress took off their shirts and protested against the speaker. Lok Sabha Speaker is parliament's pride. Is this the respect Congress has for women? Is this what Rahul Gandhi preaches to the Congress party?" Irani said on Friday.
"It this their culture? What message are they giving?" she questioned.
Members of Youth Congress on Thursday staged a protest against Mahajan for suspending 25 Congress MPs by taking off their shirts.
She also slammed the Congress for questioning the Naga peace accord, and opposing the Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill.
