New Delhi: Union Home Minster Rajnath Singh today pointed out that 'secular' is the most misused world in Indian politics today.

"If there's is any word which is misused the most in Indian politics, that is 'Secular'. Instead of 'dharma-nirpeksha', the word 'pant-nirpeksha' should be used," Rajnath Singh told Lok Sabha while participating in  2-day discussion on Constitution.

The Home Minister said that Dr Ambedkar didn't use 'Socialist' and 'Secular' words in Preamble because India is inherently secular.

"Dr Ambedkar didn't find it necessary to insert 'Socialist' and 'Secular' words in Preamble because he felt it's already in our basic nature," Singh said.

Ruling out any possibility for dilution of reservation to weaker sections of the society , Singh said, "There should be no discussion on reservation. There cannot be any dilution on reservation. It is not a political issue but a constitutional provision for the socio-economic reasons. We believe that there cannot be any dilution in reservation."

"Dr Ambedkar introduced concept of reservation for equality, he said it's a socio-political necessity. Preamble is soul of the Constitution and no changes should be made to that," he added.

He also said that people trying to project Dr Ambedkar as a dalit leader was wrong.

"I don't think he should be restricted to such a narrow purview," the Home Minister said.

The first two days of the month-long session will be dedicated to the anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution also known as Constitution Day.
