Ranchi, Nov 2: Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay today demanded a judicial probe by a sitting high court judge into the assault of former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, a day after Chief Minister Arjun Munda said a retired district judge would probe into the incident.
“I met Governor Syed Ahmed today and requested him to ask the state government to institute a judicial probe into the incident by a sitting high court judge,” he told reporters after heading a delegation to the Raj Bhavan here.
The local Congress MP, who also met Koda at the hospital, said he had spoken to Chief Secretary S K Choudhary and requested him to allow an all-party delegation led by leader of opposition in the state assembly to look into the problems faced by jail inmates.
According to sources, the Governor may ask a detailed report from the BJP-led government on the sequence of the incident that occurred on Monday.
