New Delhi: After Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s abysmal performance in the recently conducted Delhi Assembly Poll, the saffron party and its ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) discussed the possible reasons behind their defeat.

According to sources, top party leaders including and RSS leaders including Dattatray Hossbole took part in the meeting to analyze the result's huddle. They discussed probable reasons behind the loss.

The RSS and BJP pondered over measures that could be taken to make up for the defeat and evaluated the amount of impact it could have in the elections to follow in other states.

The RSS-BJP poll committee will also be meeting on February 15 to take stock of the election results.
BJP was virtually wiped out in Delhi and managed to get just 3 seats in the 70-member assembly. The Aam Aadmi Party, in a historic feat, bagged the remaining 67 seats while the Congress scored zero.

Jagdish Pradhan, Om Prakash Sharma and Vijender Gupta are the only three BJP candidates who withstood the AAP tsunami and managed to win their seats in Delhi Assembly elections.

BJP leaders accepted that the defeat as a “setback” but dismissed suggestions that it was a verdict against the Narendra Modi government. It was the first major setback to the BJP after the party won Lok Sabha elections and went on to form governments in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand, and became the second largest party in Jammu and Kashmir.
