Basholi (J&K): Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti today asked them to root out the dynastic rule of father and son (NC) and father and daughter (PDP) for failure to end corruption.
Stating that Jammu and Kashmir is famous in the world only for corruption, Bharti said that the people of state are suffering from many grievances.
“The issue of corruption and discrimination with Jammu are major issues of the state. Since 1947, the people of the state are facing only troubles. The time of relief now comes when BJP will form the government in state,” she said.
Addressing a rally in favour of BJP candidate from Basholi constituency Ch Lal Singh, she said that BJP wanted to develop Jammu and Kashmir at the highest level. “But the past government was not interested. We want to promote tourism in Kashmir and also asked the state government to send special project to develop tourism and for development of Dal Lake,” she said.
“Unfortunately despite repeated requests, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah did not do so,” she said and assured people of developing Basholi as historic tourism place and promoting it on world map.
“We have number of tourism development of lake development and religious tourism development projects, but these cannot be declared during the election,” she said citing the Model Code of Conduct imposed.
She asked people to come out in large numbers and vote for BJP and root out the dynastic rule of NC and PDP. Bharti also recalled how she had hoisted tri-colour in Lal Chowk in Srinagar when militants challenged the nation in 1991 and said she was ready to sacrifice any chair of Minister or Chief Minister for the sake of National Flag and Nationalism.
“It was time when it was difficult to hoist the National Flag in Kashmir when militants posed a challenge in 1991. But I have hoisted the tri-colour at Lal Cowk in Srinagar. “Unfortunately an FIR was registered against me. But I did not care for such FIR and was ready to sacrifice any chair of Minister or Chief Minister for the sake of National Flag and Nationalism,” she said.
