New delhi, Sep 25: The President's Secretariat has taken steps to recover return gifts received by former President Pratibha Patil in her official capacity as President of India, says RTI activist Subhash Chandra Agrawal.
A private trust owned by family of Pratibha Patil has now been asked to return gifts received by Pratibha Patil. The RTI response reveals that the President Secretariat did not follow Toshakha rules in regard to gifts received by Pratibha Patil as President of India.
Says Agrawal, inquiry should be made and responsibility fixed on those who did not follow rules while taking account of gifts received by Pratibha Patil as President of India, and signed MOU for transferring gifts to a private trust.
