Rare pictures of Netaji Subhash Bose during freedom struggle

New Delhi: He was a vibrant and energetic leader with a self-motivated zeal. Popularly known as Netaji, he gave India the slogan 'Delhi Chalo!'. Highly inspired by Swami Vivekanand and Mahatma Gandhi, he joined Indian National Congress and worked under Deshbandhu Chittranjan Das who became his political guru. 1. He was against the idea of a Dominion Status for India which was presented by Congress under Motilal Nehru Committee. He demanded complete independence. He was jailed and was released after the signing of Gandhi-Irwin pact in 1931. He was made nationless and was sent to Europe. He took this as an opportunity and worked for establishing political and cultural relations between India and Europe.2. He came back to India and was again jailed for not obeying the exile for a year. After Congress's coming back to power in 7 states after 1937 elections, he was released. The following year Bose was chosen as the president at the Haripura Congress session. He passed a resolution demanding British to leave India within 6 months.3. He was kept on arrest in 1941 and he used this car to flee. His rigid attitude and unbending approach resulted in protests and as a consequence he had to resign from the post of president of INC at the Haripura Congress session. He formed the All India Forward Bloc. 4. Netaji escaped from Kolkata, went to Peshawar, and from there he reached Germany. He sought the support of Axis powers -Germany and Japan for his fight against the Britishers. He later moved to Singapore in 1943 and founded the Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army). Mainly Indian prisoners of war were a part of the army. The army reached India's border at Manipur in March 1944 via Burma. In the battle at Manipur, the INA lost, and Netaji alongwith his associates fled to territories still occupied by Japan in the Far East.5. He coined the slogan "give me blood and I will give you freedom". 6. Unluckily, Japan and Germany lost in Second World War and INA was unable to fulfill its course.7. In 1945, the British reported that Subahsh Chandra Bose was killed in a plane crash in Taiwan, but this is still contested by Netaji's followers, who claim that Netaji was not present in that aircraft on that date. The next year, processions were taken out on his birthday, and there were riots.8. The procession changed into a riot and police intervened.
