Deoband (UP), Mar 27: BJP leader Rajnath Singh today warned the Mayawati government against using force to crush protests by political parties and farmers.
"The state government is using force against the farmers protesting against inadequate compensation for their land.... It will face the same fate as Gaddafi regime in Libya if it does not stop it," the former BJP chief said at rally in in Budgaon area.
He promised that if the BJP government comes to power in Uttar Pradesh then it would provide interest-free loans not just to farmers, but also to labourers.
Accusing Mayawati government of not fulfilling its poll pledges, he said, "The BSP had said it will provide 18 hours of electricity to farmers after coming into power but this has not been fulfilled."
He said the BJP government will bring back the black money stashed in banks abroad within one year once it comes to power again at the centre and will use it for the benefit of farmers and workers. PTI
