"I can predict, 2014 will see the election of a government of the poor, the aam aadmi. That government will change the face of India. We will give power to the last man standing on the fringe and change India", said Rahul Gandhi.
At his Aligarh meeting, the Gandhi scion mentioned how he was told by reporters in Gujarat that it was not the right time to speak out against the 'ordinance'.
"I asked them, tell me one thing, was I telling the truth or not? They said, yes, then I asked, how can you have a right time and wrong time for telling the truth", Rahul Gandhi said.
Gandhi spoke about the Congress struggle for farmers in Bhatta Parsole and said, "I had then promised we will bring the land acquisition law. The opposition tried to delay it demanding it be sent to the Standing committee, but ultimately we got it passed in Parliament. We won that fight for our farmers".
