New Delhi: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is likely to go on a padyatra in North Indian states like Madhya Pradesh and Punjab where farmers are facing a problem due to unseasonal rain.

He will meet the farmers to gauge their mood on different issues during his padyatra. He is also expected to meet the local Congress leaders to seek their feedback.

Rahul's move comes after two back to back hard-hitting speeches in two days against contentious Central government's Land Acquisition Bill. In both of his speeches, on Sunday at farmers' rally and on Monday in Lok Sabha, he accused the Modi government of being anti-farmers and of acting at the behest of corporate.

He is also likely to visit his Lok Sabha constituency Amethi in UP on Friday amid the report of posters which show him missing.

Meanwhile, a report suggested that a new team is being put into place for Rahul to focus on revamping his image ahead of the elections for the post of Congress president.

Rahul is likely to change his style of functioning and will keep senior leaders in loop along with his own team of young leaders. He will also seek Sonia Gandhi's advice on different matters.

The 44-year old leader has taken up the cause of farmers very aggressively after his comeback from 59-day long sabbatical.
