Rahul Gandhi on Thursday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the backdrop of the controversy over the new sugarcane pricing policy which led to a stormy start to winter session of Parliament.
"I had a private conversation with the Prime Minister. I keep meeting him regularly", said the Congress general secretary after the meeting in Parliament House when asked by reporters whether he discussed the sugarcane pricing policy issue and a special package for Bundelkhand region with the Prime Minister.
The meeting between Gandhi, who had led the party's campaign in Uttar Pradesh in Lok Sabha polls, and the Prime Minister came at a time when SP and RLD have joined hands in the state to oppose the new sugarcane pricing policy. PTI
