Ramanathapuram (TN), Apr 7 : BJP president Nitin Gadkari today said the April 13 Tamil Nadu assembly poll was "not an election for deciding future of DMK, AIADMK, BJP or Congress, but is to decide the fate of the people".
Addressing an poll campaign meting here,he said the election was important for the future of the state and the people. "If you want the state to develop...then you should seek an alternate government."
He said BJP at present ruled in nine states and had 165 MPs and 1150 MLAs and was confident of coming to power in 2014.
The BJP-ruled Gujarat was now considered as the best state in the country in economic, agricultural and industrial development.
Agriculture was growing at the rate of 14 per cent in Gujarat compared to 2.5 per cent in Tamil Nadu. There was no power cut in that state and all the 14 rivers had been linked to improve the farm operations.
He said some parties, including DMK, were family oriented. PTI
