New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi tonight held a meeting with top officials to discuss the Pathankot terror attack.
Soon after returning from his two-day visit to Karnataka, Modi chaired a meeting of top officials including National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar.
"Immediately on landing in Delhi, PM Narendra Modi is chairing a high-level meeting with the NSA, Foreign Secretary and other officials," the PMO said.
Earlier during the day, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar briefed Prime Minister Modi on the latest situation at the Pathankot air base. Both were present at a HAL function in Tumakuru in Karnataka.
Pathankot air base is under terror attack since yesterday. The security forces have already killed four terrorists and two more are believed to be still holed-up inside the base, and an operation is underway to flush them out.
fresh exchange of fire was reported at the attack site between the security forces and terrorists holed-up inside the air force base.
A joint combing operation by the armed forces, police and security personnel was still underway and the NIA has taken over the probe into the terror attack.
