New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on June 21 practice yoga with children at majestic Rajpath to mark the first International Yoga Day.
The Central government has planned big to celebrate the day by organising a function at the Rajpath. The event is expected to see more than 16,000 participants including school children performing yoga from 07.00 To 07.30 AM.
One particular asana, which is yet to be decided, will be practised. Simultaneously millions of people will perform the same asana across the country.
The Guinness book of world record has also been informed as it will be the biggest yoga event with largest number of particiapants.
Besides, Yoga gurus will also be sent to different countries to perform and celebrate the day.
Modi has long been a proponent of the discipline of physical poses and breath control which is one of the country's most-successful exports.
It must be noted that, United Nations declared, June 21 as the International Day of Yoga, in December last year, something PM Modi had pitched for in his maiden address to the U.N. General Assembly in New York in September.
