Prasad also hoped the EC will take note of the few incidents of malpractices that took place today during polling, alleging that not enough central paramilitary forces were deployed in eastern Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
Reacting to media reports that Smriti Irani may be disqualified due to over-spending in this election from Amethi, the BJP leader condemned it asking where such a “malicious campaign was being launched against her for taking on Rahul Gandhi”.
“We completely deprecate this kind of witch-hunting. Our deep suspicion of a mala fide against this whole report because Smriti Irani has given a very tough fight to Rahul Gandhi in Amethi,” he said. Prasad said he “condemns” such a report.
