Patna, June 9: LJP supremo Ramvilas Paswan on Friday alleged that the JD(U) was behind the murder of Ranvir Sena chief Brahmeshwar Singh and said that the arrest of two persons close to the ruling party pointed at it.
“The arrest of two persons close to the JD(U) by the Special Investigation Team indicates involvement of the ruling party in the murder of the Ranvir Sena chief,” he told reporters.
He criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for staying away from Patna in Bhagalpur when the law and order situation had deteriorated following the murder of the Sena chief.
Alleging that the overall law and order situation in Bihar had turned bad as there was of late a spurt in crime and corruption, Paswan claimed that the countdown for the end of the Nitish Kumar government had begun with the people fast losing faith in the administration.
He also alleged the state government's involvement in a land scam in Araria district where land belonging to farmers was purchased at low rates and sold to the state government for distribution among the landless and shelterless Mahadalit families.
