New Delhi: Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, one of the four RJD MPs in the Lok Sabha, has decided to back Jitan Ram Manjhi much to the chagrin of his party boss.
After supporting Manjhi, RJD MP has openly slammed party Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for being biased towards his own family.
He said that the Lalu should think about party rather than thinking about his children.
Talking to India TV, Papu Yadav said, "I will not accept the leadership of Lalu's children. Lalu should forward leaders like Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Abdul Bari Siddiqqi. Lalu should announce to fight elections under Nitish Kumar projecting him as CM. Only then he will get my support. Nitish is a soft face today and we cannot deny that. In 1990, I was elected as legislator and Lalu's son was born in 91. Let Lalu ask his son to struggle. Only Pappu Yadav can be Lalu's political heir. Lalu does not talk to me. Opposing Manjhi is a big loss for both Lalu and Nitish. I am not afraid of any action against me."
In past weeks, Bihar has witnessed bewildering, breathtaking changes. Pappu Yadav throwing his weight behind Manjhi can be an attempt on his part to create an axis of scheduled caste and Yadavs.
There is a likelihood that Manjhi may play victim after his ouster, as and when it happens. If he agrees to join hands with Pappu, the two may have bigger bargaining chip in Bihar after the assembly polls.
