Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Tuesday congratulated PDP's Mohammad Ashraf Mir after he defeated Abdullah in the Sonwar assembly seat.
"Congratulations to Ashraf Mir for his victory in Sonwar. I wish him and the people good luck for the next six years. He's now my local MLA," Abdullah said in a tweet.
Sonwar is one of the two constituencies from where Abdullah contested the assembly election. While Peoples Democratic Party's Mir got 14,283 votes, Abdullah obtained 9,500.
