Odisha, May 17: The BJP today accused the Naveen Patnaik government in Odisha of failing to contain Maoist activity which has spread to 24 of the 30 districts in the state.
“Instead of tackling the Maoist problem, the government seems to be helping its spread,” BJP's state unit president Juel Oram said here.
He alleged that the government was acting on Maoist diktat, which gives an impression that the ruling BJD
has a secret link with the rebels.
“Relatives of top Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda are now associated with the ruling BJD. It speaks volumes about links of the ruling party with the rebels,” the BJP leader alleged.
Oram also criticised the BJD government's performance during the abduction of two Italians and Laxmipur MLA Jhina Hikaka.
