Mumbai: Senior Congress leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane today categorically denied that he or any of his family members were having accounts in foreign banks.
A media report today named Rane's wife Neelam Rane and son Nilesh Rane, among others, in what it said was a new list of account holders in HSBC's Swiss banking arm. “None of my family members have a foreign account,” Rane told reporters here.
When asked if the revelation could be damaging for Congress, state unit president Manikrao Thakre said Rane had already made a statement refuting the report, and “there is nothing for the party to say on it”.
