New Delhi: Hitting back at Rahul Gandhi, BJP today sought to describe him as the "baby" of Congress and claimed that neither his party nor allies take him seriously and that is why he has not been made his party's president.
After Gandhi's attack at a rally in Bihar in which he painted the Modi government as pro-rich, BJP mocked him saying even his party did not take him seriously.
"He is a baby of Congress. People do not take him seriously. Even Congress does not take him seriously as it did not make him its president.
"His allies like JD(U) and RJD too do not take him seriously. RJD chief Lalu Prasad sent his 'baby' Tejaswi Yadav to attend the rally," BJP secretary Shrikant Sharma said.
Kicking off the Congress campaign in poll-bound Bihar, Gandhi raked up the 'suit boot ki sarkar' jibe to target the Modi government, warning people that they would lose their land and livelihood if NDA came to power.
Prasad as well as JD(U) leader and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar did not join Gandhi at the rally and instead sent other party leaders.
