New Delhi: In past few weeks, Bihar has witnessed bewildering, breathtaking political changes.

While Nitish Kumar paraded his MLAs before the Governor in Patna, Jitan Ram Manjhi is bracing to face the  floor test on February 20.

Apart from this, Nitish and his camp has now resorted to "dinner diplomacy".

Four top JD(U) leaders have hosted dinners since February 7 — the day Nitish Kumar was chosen leader of the legislature party. It first started with former parliamentary affairs minister Shravan Kumar hosting a dinner for party MLAs.

Two party MLAs Manjeet Singh and Lesi Singh and party MLC Sanjay Singh also followed up with dinners for legislators over the last week.

Amid the entire political crisis in Patna, a dinner was organised by Nitish Kumar camp in a five star hotel with sources quoted by The Asian Age, saying the former CM had asked one of his supporters to throw a party to keep his flock in good spirits.

“No, the dinner was not organised to appease anyone, no one needs to appease us as they know we were together earlier and we are together now, it just happened that on the occasion of Mahashivratri we decided to have dinner together”, said one of the organisers, Vinod Singh, MLC.

While JD(U) has expelled all its 7 ministers who were Manjhi's close, the party is lined with number of diplomacy dinners.

Another dinner is planned at senior leader Vijay Chaudhary's house on Wednesday, while a third one will be held at Nitish Kumar's residence on Thursday, JD(U) sources said.

“Nitish Kumar is cunningly organising such parties and get-togethers in order to keep a check on the legislators. The same Nitish Kumar used to keep himself away from MLAs and ministers when he was chief minister. Today he needs them, and so he is wooing them ... he is scared that he may lose”, said Leader of the Opposition Nand Kishore Yadav was quoted by Asian Age.
