New Delhi: A day after polling, Union minister and senior BJP leader Nirmala Sitharaman today met party's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi at her residence here.
The result of the keenly-fought contest between BJP and the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party is due on Tuesday, though the exit polls have predicted a sweeping majority for AAP.
Sitharaman met Bedi earlier in the day and spent over an hour at the former IPS officer's Uday Park residence in south Delhi.
After coming out of Bedi's house, the minister said that the results would come out only on February 10 and that is when she would talk.
“We will talk after the results come out on 10th. We're hopeful that the results will favour us,” the Union Commerce and Industries Minister said.
Bedi had yesterday said that she would take “full responsibility” if her party suffers a loss, but Sitharamam said that was her individual statement.
“She is the CM candidate and that statement is her own. She is being upfront about it. We will know the results on 10th, we'll talk then,” Sitharaman said.
