Nine out of 18 Aam Aadmi Party candidates in Delhi are crorepatis

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party may be espousing the cause of common man, but the affidavits filed by nine of out their 18 candidates so far in Delhi reveal they are crorepatis. Former TV journalist Shazia Ilmi is the richest among them with property worth Rs 30 crore. She is contesting from R K Puram against Congress candidate Barkha Singh. The properties belong to her and her husband Siraj Malik. AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal's apart in Koshambi, Ghaziabad is worth Rs 70 lakhs and another flat in Gurgaon is worth nearly Rs 1 crore. Kejriwal is contesting against Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in New Delhi. AAP candidate Deshraj Raghav contesting from Uttam Nagar owns properties worth Rs 12 crore. He owns a chain of PDS shops, allege his political rivals. AAP candidate Baljit Singh Mann from Narela has declared assets worth Rs 8.67 crore. He is a farmer. AAP candidate Girish Soni from Madipur has declared assets worth Rs 1.25 c r. He has a leather business. AAP candidate Preetpal Singh from Rajouri Garden has declared assets worth Rs 1.70 crore. AAP candidate Jarnail Singh from Tilak Nagar has declared assets worth Rs 1.70 crore. AAP candidate Mahender Yadav from Vikaspuri has declared assets worth Rs 1.57 crop. AAP candidate Narendra Singh Sejwal from Mehrauli has declared assets worth Rs 3.07 crore. AAP candidate Dharamvir Singh from Kalkaji has declared assets worth Rs 1.04 crore. The richest AAP candidate who is yet to file his nomination is Gulab Singh whose assets are worth Rs 7.5 crore. Gajanand, AAP candidate from Bawana has assets worth Rs 5.96 crore. He has eight plots and three cars.
