New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday wished former prime minister Manmohan Singh on his birthday.
"Best wishes and warm greetings to Manmohan Singh ji on his birthday. May he be blessed with a long life and good health," Modi tweeted.
Singh was born in 1932 in Gah village of Jhelum district in what is now Pakistan's Punjab province.
Singh, served as India's fourteenth Prime Minister, is rightly acclaimed as a thinker and a scholar, turned 82 on Friday. Well regarded for his diligence and his academic approach to work, Singh was born in a village in the Punjab province of undivided India.
Singh was the first PM since Jawaharlal Nehru to be re-elected after completing a full five-year term.
