New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will "redefine" India's ties with the US, union minister Prakash Javadekar said.
"Strategic relations with the US is very important for India. Our prime minister will redefine it," Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Information and Broadcasting Javadekar told a news channel.
"Modiji's UN General Assembly speech is very important because the whole world is looking at the transformation of power in India," he said.
Asked if it is a personal vindication for Modi as he was earlier denied a visa to the US, Javadekar said the prime minister was never denied a visa.
"There was no denial of visa because we never applied for it. We must not go into that debate. Modiji is coming here as leader of the country," he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to the US Sep 26-30.
