New Delhi: AAP MLA Somnath Bharti, facing non-bailable warrant in a domestic violence and attempt to murder case filed by his wife, on Tuesday took a dig at the promptness shown by the Delhi Police in his case saying in last five days, he had experienced their "supersonic speed" and wished they could use it in making Delhi Crime-Free.
He also denied that he was hiding from the world and only trying not to give to (Narendra) Modi's police, as their intention was not only to arrest him but to "torture" him.
He said he will provide all proofs to police to build up the case.
Bharti was today protected from arrest in connection with a domestic violence and attempt to murder case filed by his wife as Delhi High Court asked the city police not to take any coercive steps against him till Thursday.
In a series of tweets, Bharti, who was missing for past five days, said "Last 5 days of experience is worth penning down. Also experienced d supersonic speed of DP, wish they cud use in making Delhi Crime-Free!!!"
He also took a dig at Delhi Police saying, "Look at the efficiency of Modi Police: since under 498A arrest is difficult for Arnesh kumar judgment, hence slapped 307 and 313 to arrest. "efficiency of Modi police: 9th Sept: FIR, 10th Sept: 164 statement and 10.30 PM notice issued for 11th Sept 10.30 AM appearance.
"11th Sept: My house/office was raided by 15-16 police and MHA officials. 11th Sept: Anticipatory Bail application filed n listed for 14.09," he said.
Bharti said he was evading arrest as Delhi Police had slapped Section 307 (attempt to murder) and 313 (causing miscarriage without woman's consent) of the IPC to arrest him, as they could no longer arrest him under Section 498A (subjecting cruelty on wife by husband or his relative).
"I was not hiding from the world. What I was trying to do.. it is Modi's police and I don't want to give into Modi police because their intention was not only to arrest me but also torture... I just wanted one day and I am going to give whatever they want.
All proofs which will build the case further," he told a newschannel.
He also termed as "ridiculous" the allegation that he used to direct his dog on his wife saying " a pet in the house can never be directed by one family member against the other." Bharti claimed problems in his marital life occured as she does not want to move with him at his house in Malviya Nagar from her house in Dwarka, and he cannot move to Dwarka as he was an MLA from Malviya Nagar and he can't leave his people.
Meanwhile, Delhi police raided various places in Agra in search of former Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti. They also questioned the member of AAP's national committee Sudhir Bhardwaj and party's district covener Kapil Bhardwaj, officials said.
