New Delhi: In a clear sign that the BJP considers AAP as its main rival in Delhi elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today targeted Arvind Kejriwal and said that Delhi does not need those who openly confessed to be anarchists.
Launching BJP's election campaign for state assembly polls at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi today, Modi said, “Have you ever seen a leader who openly admits that he is an anarchist and that he believes in this practice of anarchy? If you have to indulge in anarchy, go to forests and join hands with Naxals.”
“Those who have mastery in sitting on streets, dharnas etc., please give them that job. We can run a good government, give us this job,” added Modi.
Modi said that he wants every Delhite to own a house by 2022.
“I have a dream, every slum dweller in Delhi should have a house of his own by 2022, when India will complete 75 years of Independence. I need your support to fulfil this dream,” said Modi.
Modi also promised to provide 24 hours electricity supply to Delhites. He said that his government will also introduce a system where one can choose his electricity supplier.
“I assure you that I will facilitate 24 hours supply of electricity.Like you choose your service provider for phone, we will introduce a system where you can choose who you want to buy your electricity from,” said Modi.
Modi denied any move on part of the government to reduce the retirement age to 58 and said that these rumours are being created deliberately.
The Prime Minister asserted that people of Delhi should trust him because he never believes in backstabbing.
“A lie was spread that retirement age will be decreased to 58. I wonder who is thinking this when Government has not given any thought about it or said a thing about it. Those who spread lies will be rejected by people,” added Modi.
“They are spreading a lie every day. Modi is not the person who will stab others in the back. Do not trust the lies they are spreading,” added Modi.
Committing to provide a corruption-free society, Modi said he already commenced the cleansing from the top and asked if anyone has heard any complaint about him ever since he took over as Prime Minister some seven months back.
“Trust me, I will clean up the system. I have started from the top and I will take it to the bottom. People take money from auto drivers, shopkeeper, the poor people...It will all stop,” the Prime Minister said.
Taking a dig at the Congress over its claim of standing by the poor, he said “who was running government for the rich and who is running government for the poor has been proved by the Jan Dhan scheme.”
Assuring to end water woes in Delhi, he said BJP-ruled Haryana has promised to provide more water to Delhi after Central intervention.
