Gurgaon:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi today urged Haryana voters to give BJP a majority of seats in assembly elections, saying the party was “projected” as a front-runner by all experts but the state will suffer if it falls short of a majority.

Addressing what Modi said was his last rally in Haryana before polls on October 15, he said India was being feted across the world including the US “not because of Modi but you” as people elected a majority government in Lok Sabha for the first time in 30 years.

“Due to this majority government, when Modi meets some leader he doesn't see Modi but 125 crore Indians. You tell me if Haryana also should not be lauded like this. If it has to happen, you must elect a government having a majority,” he said.

He lashed out at Congress government and Om Prakash Chautala-led INLD for running the state like a “ family fiefdom parcelled out among relatives” and said a BJP regime would propel the state on the path of development.

“Many experts and surveys are saying BJP will get a majority. Some are saying BJP will fall short by a few seats.  So they are unanimous that we will form government.  “My brothers and sisters, I request you not to elect a government which will depend on others. Otherwise, what is required for the state will be looted by those who will come to help us,” he said.

A mafia culture was prevalent across the state, Modi said while raking up cases of rape of Dalit women in the state under the Congress rule.
The Congress government, he said, did not have even courage to file FIR against the criminals indulging in such crimes.

“You give us a chance to serve you. You give us a chance to fulfil your dream,” he said.
