New Delhi: Nandan Nilkeni, Infosys co-founder and the main architect of UPA govt's ambitious ‘Aadhar ‘ project, is seriously considering to join Congress formally and is willing to contest upcoming Lok Sabha polls in 2014 from Bangalore South constituency, according to some media reports.
BJP general secretary H N Ananth Kumar presently represents Bangalore South LS seat in parliament. He has won this five times in a row.
The Congress party is reportedly keen on Nandan Nilkeni contesting from Bangalore South and it is believed that Rahul Gandhi himself had sounded out Nilkeni around two months back on this matter.
An IIT-Mumbai alumnus, Nilkeni resigned from Infosys in 2007 and accepted the challenging task of UIDAI that is aimed at providing unique identity cards to billions of Indian residents.
