Muslim leader raises voice of protest in presence of Sonia, Manmohan Singh

New Delhi: A Muslim leader from North-East Delhi Dr Fahim Beg today raised his voice of protest over what he called the negligence of minorities by the government at a conference organised by the Ministry

Dr Beg recited an Urdu couplet "Tu idhar udhar ki baat na kar, yeh bataa caravan kyon luta, Humen rahjanon se gilaa nahin, teri rehbari ke sawaal hai" (don't talk rubbish, tell us why the caravan was looted, we have nothing to say against robbers, the question is your leadership)

The occasion was the launch of the National Waqf Development Corporation Limited (NAWADCO) promising more steps to empower minorities.

Later Union Minister for Minority Affairs K Rehman Khan criticised Beg saying, merely airing complaints won't do, people would have to work for the betterment of the community.
