Expelled Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Saturday said Mulayam Singh Yadav's claims of being anti-English education were just a facade meant to gain political mileage.
When he was so much against English education, why he had sent his son Akhilesh Yadav to Australia for higher studies, Singh asked his former party chief while addressing a public meeting held by the All India Kshatriya Mahasabha in Hardoi. "Even today his nephews are studying in London. All this talk about his (Mulayam's) being anti-English is aimed at gaining political mileage," Singh alleged.
Targeting the new party spokesman, Mohan Singh who had given a statement against party MP Jaya Bachchan, Amar Singh said that both he and Bachchan had no lust for Rajya Sabha membership .
"Jaya Bachchan neither wants Rajya Sabha membership from Gujarat or anywhere else nor is she faced with identity crisis ...her entire family is well known not just in the country but also abroad", he said. The expelled SP leader said he had no ambitions of floating a new party but merely wanted to work for the Kshatriya samaj (community).
Singh's brother Arvind Singh had claimed yesterday that the former SP leader would float his own party before the end of this month. Suspended SP MLA Sarvesh Singh was also among those present on the occasion. PTI
