Bhopal: Ahead of the upcoming civic body polls in Madhya Pradesh, the ruling BJP in the state has organised a two-day conference of local party leaders that is to begin from today.
The meeting will be inaugurated by BJP chief Amit Shah. It will conclude tomorrow.
Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu, Sushma Swaraj, Narendra Singh Tomar and Thawar Chand Gehlot will also be participating in the event.
"The total number of civic bodies in the state is 2,500 and two leaders of the party from each civic body will take part in the conference," state BJP president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan.
A total of 17,000 poll booth in-charge will also attend the conference along with corporators, MLAs, MPs and district presidents, among others.
The valedictory function will be addressed by Madhya Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Election dates for the local body polls are yet to be announced.
