Modi says, it's not Congress, but CBI which is contesting Gujarat polls

Ahmedabad, Sept 30 : Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi today lashed out at the CBI saying, it was not the Congress, but the investigating agency which is contesting the forthcoming state assembly polls. “Congress is not contesting the polls here, it's the CBI which is playing the game here”, he added.In an interview to India TV correspondent Nirnay Kapoor, Modi said, “Even after 10 years of governance, my dreams for Gujarat have just begun. For the last 10 years, I had been trying to level the potholes that were created by the Congress in the previous 50 years.”Asked about the response to his Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra, Modi said, compared to the 2002 Gaurav Yatra, the response this time is at least ten times more and the people are full of zest and energy. “It's my strong belief that the people of Gujarat love and trust me”, said Modi. “The people of Gujarat know me very well, otherwise no chief minister after ruling for such a long period would dare to go among the voters”, he added. Modi refused to comment on Keshubhai Patel's political moves, saying, “I have se some principles and rules for myself. I don't want to discuss this in public.”Asked whether he was willing for a public debate with any Congress leader before the polls, Modi countered: “Tell me, which leader in the Congress should I trust for joining me in a debate? Even in the Congress, nobody is willing to accept the other as a leader.”On HRD Minister Kapil Sibal sending him two Aakash tablets after Modi's criticism of the Aakash tablet scheme, Modi said: “Is Mr Kapil Sibal trying to bribe me and stifle my voice by sending Aakash tablets?”On Commerce Minister Anand Sharma's remark that Gujarat government had supported FDI in multi-brand retail during the NDA regime, Modi challenged the Congress to come forth with any document it might have to prove this point. “Had the document originated from Narendra Modi, they would have been the first to bring out an ad.”About the destination of his ‘rath', Modi said, I got this ‘rath' (chariot) from Delhi, and after my work is over, I will send it back to Delhi. Modi had taken Advani's ‘rath' for his Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra.
