New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi today attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying the 'later has been reduced to unedifying flip flop'.
"The Prime Minister has been reduced to unedifying flip-flops creating confusion on what he really stands for," Sonia said while addressing the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meet here.
"The U-turn on Land Ordinance is evidence that government is out of touch with ground realities. Modi government has failed abysmally to match words with deeds, to match media events with actual accomplishment," she added.
She also said that Security situation in neighbourhood has deteriorated.
"Instead of a coherent policy on Pakistan, government cannot seem to make up its mind on what it should do. It has become painfully clear that most of the promises by PM during poll campaign were nothing more than 'hawabaazi'," she said.
"The economy is on a downward slide while prices continue on their unrelenting rise. As for promises such as the creation of jobs or slogans such as Make in India, the less said about them the better," she added.
The Congress president further lashed out at BJP for its three-day BJP-Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) meet last week.
"The country last week was given clear evidence of what is obvious for a long time. Modi Government is controlled and directed by the RSS," she said.
The CWC is likely to extend term of party president Sonia Gandhi by a year at its meeting today. The term of Sonia, who has been at the helm for 17 years, will end in December and the party is likely to hold organisational elections next year.
