New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi tonight congratulated Laxmikant Parsekar on his becoming the chief minister of Goa and expressed confidence that he will take the state to newer heights of progress.
"Congratulations to Laxmikant Parsekarji on taking oath as Goa CM," Modi said.
"Best wishes to him. I am sure he will take Goa to newer heights of progress," the Prime Minister said.
Parsekar, an old RSS hand who helped build BJP in Goa, was today sworn-in as Chief Minister of the coastal state after he snuffed out competition from his senior and Deputy CM Francis D'Souza to succeed Manohar Parrikar who was plucked for a Union Cabinet berth.
