Omar Abdullah hit back at Modi, saying he did not have any knowledge of the state's history.

"I don't need secularism certificate from you Modi ji, neither does my khandaan, nor do Kashmiris... We are glad that you (Modi) didn't give us a certificate on secularism, otherwise we might have had to resign," he said.

He added that the Kashmiri Muslims were "pained" by the Pandits' exodus.

"The majority of Kashmiri Muslims are pained at the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and want them to come back," he said.
