New Delhi: The NCP on Friday lauded the Prime Minister's Independence Day speech, saying he addressed the problems faced by the nation in a practical way.
"It was a good speech because he addressed problems in a practical way, did not make tall claims, but suggested a feasible national agenda laced with humility, modesty and national concerns."
"His fundamentals were correct," said DP Tripathi, NCP general secretary and party spokesperson who was one of the opposition leaders who attended the Independence Day address at the Red Fort.
He said he had earlier attended Independence Day celebration and speeches addressed by Rajiv Gandhi and AB Vajpayee.
NCP is a key constituent of the UPA, but have differed with the Congress on several issues.
