New Delhi: After  2014 Lok Sabha polls, BJP had mocked Congress by saying that 44 Congress MPs can travel in one Volvo bus to the Parliament and as it is said situation is not same all the time.  As the Delhi Assembly election results declared, the joke seems to be haunting the BJP.

Jagdish Pradhan, Om Prakash Sharma and Vijender Gupta are the only three BJP candidates who survived the AAP Tsunami and won their respective seats. Well, not even a Volvo; the trio can travel to Delhi assembly in an auto.

Former BJP state president Vijender Gupta retained his bastion Rohini by defeating AAP's C L Gupta by around 5000 votes.

The second seat that BJP managed to win is Vishwas Nagar constituency. BJP's Om Prakash Sharma defeated AAP's Dr. Atul Gupta in a tough contest by over 11,000 votes.

And the last seat that the BJP won is Mustafabad. Jagdish Pradhan of the BJP defeated sitting MLA Hassan Ahmed of Congress by over 5000 votes.

The BJP's humiliation was complete with its Chief Ministerial face Kiran Bedi losing in the traditional stronghold of Krishna Nagar which was long held by party veteran Harsh Vardhan.

The Aam Aadmi Party recorded a landslide victory and secured 67 of the 70 seats in the Delhi. The party gambled on Bedi but relied on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's image, which still did not work for the party. As evident there was no Modi wave in Delhi but it was 'Muffler Man' who ruled the national capital.

The Congress party's performance in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections has been repeated by the BJP in the Delhi Assembly polls. For the first time, there will be no recognised Opposition party in the Assembly and no Leader of the Opposition too.
