Saharanpur: Sharing the dais with arrested Congress candidate Imran Masood's wife, Rahul Gandhi today disapproved of his controversial comments threatening to chop BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Modi "into pieces" saying they militated against the party's ideology.Addressing a rally in Saharanpur, Gandhi said Masood should not have used those strong words (kathor shabd) as Congress does not have to do the politics of anger like the opposition.Soon after Masood's arrest, it was said by party leaders that Gandhi will not be addressing the scheduled rally at Saharanpur. However, after his Ghaziabad public meeting, Gandhi went ahead with his rally in Saharanpur where he met Masood's wife Shaima.Addressing the meeting, Shaima said her husband is being "trapped" on the basis of "false allegations".Describing herself as their duaughter and daughter in-law, Shaima said she came there with her children to seek their "blessings".Her sharing the dais with Gandhi is significant as Congress may have to change its candidate from the seat in wake of the police case against Masood.Earlier speaking in Ghaziabad, Gandhi said Imran's remarks were against the party's ideology."He should not have used such words against the opposition leader. I want to tell the whole country that words he used against one of opposition leaders is not our ideology," Rahul said there."Congress Party is of Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians. We do not get angry, we do our work peacefully and with love," Rahul said.At Saharanpur, the Congress Vice President said the politics of Congress is of taking everybody along as the nation can be built only then."You need to understand the people in opposition. They do the politics of anger. We do not have to do the politics of anger but of love and respect. We have to fight and defeat the politics of anger. You will see that we are going to defeat the politics of anger with love."A video footage of the election rally in Saharanpur, showing Masood attacking the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, had gone viral on the web.The Congress candidate was seen in the video as saying that "If Modi tries to make Uttar Pradesh into Gujarat, then we will chop him into tiny pieces...I am not scared of getting killed or attacking someone. I will fight against Modi. He thinks UP is Gujarat. Only 4 per cent Muslims are there in Gujarat while there are 42 per cent Muslims in UP."During his rallies, Rahul Gandhi today mounted a fierce attack on BJP, claiming it only believed in giving rights to Narendra Modi and not to the people of the country and the party's "Gujarat Model balloon" will also burst.The BJP's campaign "balloon" will burst this time too in the same way it happened in 2004 and 2009, Gandhi said while addressing a rally here as party candidate Raj Babbar was standing behind him.The Congress vice president took a dig at the BJP and its prime ministerial candidate, saying the main opposition party believed in giving rights (adhikar) to just "one" person and not to all the people of the country.Gandhi slammed the principle opposition party for "stalling" crucial legislations in Parliament and said his party is committed to the welfare of the people and will ensure right to health and shelter if voted to power at the Centre again."We will give two more rights to you -- one is right to health. In Rajasthan and Maharashtra, we have started a new scheme in which free medicines are given. We have given it in these two Congress-ruled states. We will give it in the entire country."The second right will be that of shelter. Indira Gandhi talked about roti (bread) kapra (clothes) and makan (shelter). We have given right to food, and clothes by providing employment and now we will give right to shelter," he said.The Congress leader said that the 'India Shining' balloon created by BJP in 2004 has burst twice and this time too it will meet the same fate.He said, "After the first balloon burst, just like films, in which if one is a success, there is a sequel to it, BJP thought of making India Shining 2 but the same fate was again met."Giving the example of Hindi movie 'Dhoom', Gandhi said," Now they have come out with a new film - Gujarat Model. This is the third balloon and the elections are approaching. You (people) have the power. Your fingers will press the button. And the balloon will burst again," he said.In its manifesto, Congress has promised an ambitious six-point charter of pro-poor measures, including the right to affordable healthcare, housing and pension, and to uplift 80 crore of the population to the middle class.The new rights will supplement the other rights established under UPA I and UPA II like Right to Food, Right to Information, Right to Education, Right to Employment and rights to fight corruption.Rahul also said that his party will also bring 80 crore people into middle class and it will be done by opening doors of universities and schools and industries in business corridors that has been created from Delhi to Mumbai to Kolkata.Attacking the Opposition, the Congress vice president said they stalled the land bill for two years."We had questioned that when rich sell their land, they get market rates and when farmers lands are concerned, it is acquired quickly. We fought in Bhatta Parsaul, Niyamgiri and we changed the law," Gandhi said.He added, "People of India are not standing against us but the BJP is. They stalled the bill for two years. But we won and today a farmer gets four times the money he used to get for his land. He gets it in market rate. Congress has provided their rights," he said adding that the party gave MNREGA and Right to Food and brought 15 crore people above poverty line.Attacking BJP on corruption, Rahul said that while the Opposition talks about corruption, "Are they blind when they stand by people like B S Yeddyurappa in Karnataka. They stand beside the chief minister of Chhattisgarh and mining mafia in the state and three corrupt ministers in the Gujarat Cabinet."Gandhi said that his party brought power to the people in Gujarat, where one would not find an RTI commissioner or a Lokayukta.He said that the party brought the Lokpal bill and also six bills in Parliament but the opposition has stopped it."From Delhi to Mumbai to Chennai to Kolkata, we have created business corridor and built roads, dedicated railways lines.
