In a sharp attack on his bete noire Lalu Prasad, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday alleged that the RJD supremo was getting restive with the JD-U leader occupying the CM's post and resorting to protests eyeing the chair.
Reacting to Lalu's yesterday's statement that the RJD would continue with its protest until prices were brought down to levels six months ago, Kumar said it should be reduced to rates prevailed in May 2004.
"Instead of trying to bring down the prices of essential commodities, the RJD should focus on trying to control the prices and bring it back to the level of 2004," Kumar said.
"People had given my elder brother (Lalu) a mandate, but he failed to live upto their expectations and was hence shown the door. Now, that I am at 1 Anne Marg, he is getting restive and is resorting to all kinds of gimmicks to re-enter the official residence of the CM...a design that will never succeed", Kumar quipped. The RJD has called for a bandh on January 28. PTI
