New Delhi: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, accompanied by eight-member ministerial delegation, today called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It is believed that Chandy asked the Prime Minister to include rubber based industries in the 'Make in India' programme, announced by the Centre, in the backdrop of the crisis faced by rubber growers due to fall in price of natural rubber.
The Chief Minister also invited Modi for the opening ceremony of the 35th National Games scheduled to be held in the state from January 31.
Commencement of work for Railway Coach Factory at Palakkad was also discussed.
This was Chandy's second meeting with Modi after latter assumed office as Prime Minister in May this year.
Meanwhile, Chandy is also scheduled to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi later in the day.
