Kejriwal's AAP plans to raise Rs 200 crore for funding LS elections

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is working overtime to ensure that its Lok Sabha plans are not stymied because of lack of funds. The party is planning to raise at least Rs 200

For Delhi elections, the party had a Rs 20 crore budget and they collected it through individual donations from its supporters and cadres. The spectacular success in Delhi elections has encouraged the party to go replicate the same formula at the national level.

The party gets 20-25 Lakh in donation on a daily basis and has received Rs 5.8 crore since assembly elections but the party feels that this is not enough to meet the expenses of Lok Sabha elections.

The party plans to set up a team of 500 members to increase funding. The party's state-level teams have also been sounded to form donation-specific teams. At present, AAP has units in 20 states.
