New Delhi, Jan 4: A loose remark by a BJP minister from Madhya Pradesh, Kailash Vijayvargiya, has landed the party in an unsavory controversy.
The minister has suggested that women will definitely invite trouble if they cross their moral limits.
Commenting on the gangrape of Damini, a 23-year old girl, in a moving bus in New Delhi, the minister from Shivraj Singh Chauhan government said, "Ek hi shabd hai - Maryada. Maryada ka ulanghan hota hai, toh Sita-haran ho jata hai. Laxman-rekha har vyakti ki khichi gayi hai. Us Laxman-rekha ko koi bhi par karega, toh Rawan samne baitha hai, woh Sita-haran karke le jayega.”
The minister, however, clarified later on that he talked about moral limits of both males and females and that his comments should be taken otherwise.
