Jammu: With an aim to make inroads into Congress stronghold, BJP today held an election rally followed by a roadshow in Akhnoor town in this district of Jammu and Kashmir.
BJP's state in charge and MP Avinash Rai Khanna along with several other leaders of the party held a roadshow in the area to showoff its strength in the upcoming assembly elections in this bordering belt.
Addressing the gathering, Khanna said, “such a large gathering itself is an indicator that the public of Akhnoor is fed up with the leaders to whom it elected to represent their concerns and has made up mind to support BJP”. He said “people want to undertake a cleanliness drive to get rid of such leaders who did nothing during their tenure as an MLA and minister but now are again approaching them on false promises and claims”.
Claiming that BJP is going to achieve Mission 44+, he said “we will provide a government which thinks of people and not of few families and which cares for all sections of the society”.
Party's state spokesman Sunil Sethi said “the Narendra Modi wave” that has already won assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra also has deep impact in all the three regions of the Jammu and Kashmir.
“The people in Jammu and Kashmir are yearning for a change with just one choice of bringing in BJP,” Sethi said.
