Chaibasa (Jharkhand): Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said his government is preparing a proposal to constitute a commission to check illegal transfer of land.

Launching the Sona-Sobran Dhoti Saree scheme at Gandhi Maidan in Chaibasa, West Singhbhum district, Soren said the proposal was under consideration and was likely to take a concrete shape soon.

Stating the state government was committed for industrial growth and extend its benefit to the people, he said “Though we are in favour of setting up industries in the state, but there is a condition.

The villagers who are ready to part with their land for it, must get the benefit.” The Chief Minister handed over appointment letters to 38 villagers, who had given land for a cement plant in the district and also to 14 trainee teachers of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya.

Addressing a gathering, Soren said big dams were not the only solution to address water crisis, but the issue could be dealt with by setting up smaller dams.

He also laid the foundation of seven roads to be constructed at an estimated cost of over Rs 200 crore and inaugurated a new road between Tantnagar-Majhgaon.
