Describing Jharkhand as the 'most insecure' state in the country in view of a spurt in violence, the BJP on sunday said only a democratically elected government could bring about a change for the better.
"Not President's Rule, but a popular government can put things in proper perspective again," BJP national vice-president Karuna Shukla said during the party's Raj Bhavan gherao agitation in Ranchi
Expressing anguish over the 'increase' in the crime graph, former chief minister Arjun Munda said security was in shambles with killings being reported regularly with a police inspector, a manager of nationalised bank and a government engineer killed in separate incidents inside a week.
BJP state unit president Raghuvar Das said the corruption in the erstwhile UPA regime was reflected in the fact that former ministers Enos Ekka and Hari Naryaryan Rai are beind bars in connection with disproportionate assets case, while the Enforcement Directorate has booked other ministers of that regime.
Demanding immediate dissolution of the assembly, in suspended animation since January, and early polls, the BJP leaders alleged that the poor were not getting free grains as announced by the administration after declaring Jharkhand as drought-hit. PTI
