Ranchi: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said “political dealings” in Jharkhand would come to an end if the people voted for one party rule in the ensuing Assembly elections.
“The voting behaviour here (Jharkhand) should change. If they want a government ruled by one party or they want political saudebazi (political dealings)? So there should be a clear majority to one party,” Jaitley said, appealing to the people to give majority to the BJP.
Speaking after release of BJP's manifesto here by party president Amit Shah, Jaitley said, “If political saudebazi is rejected then we don't have to worry about keeping a vigil on people sitting on our left or right (meaning coalition partners), but the focus will be on the people.” He said Jharkhand has seen nine governments in 14 years because of fractured mandate and small and independent parties dictating terms.
“When the (erstwhile) P V Narasimha Rao government wanted to save its government it sent people to Jharkhand for dealing. If any industrialist desired to enter the Rajya Sabha, the industrialist would take the first flight to Jharkhand,” Jaitley said.
He was alluding to the bribery case involving the erstwhile Narasimha Rao government and the CBI's probe into the 2010 and 2012 horse-trading cases in the state. Jaitley exhorted people to say no to the alliance politics.
Stating that the BJP's manifesto is not just a formality but a commitment of the party's vision for Jharkhand, the BJP leader talked about its rich mineral resources. Recalling Modi's promise to develop the eastern part of the country, Jaitley said e-auction of coal would benefit states like Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhatisgarh and Odisha.
