Srinagar, Mar 19: Speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Mubarak Gul has disallowed the resolution submitted by an independent MLA seeking return of mortal remains of Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru.
"I have been informed in writing by the Speaker that my resolution on return of Afzal Guru's mortal remains has been disallowed," MLA from Langate Sheikh Abdul Rashid said.
The MLA, who was marshalled out of the assembly at the start of the ongoing budget session, said disallowing the resolution was "another murder of democracy".
Last year, Rashid's resolution, seeking clemency for Guru, could not be taken up for discussion due to ruckus created by some MLAs.
