Ahmedabad, July 5: DSP Crime Branch D H Goswami has told a magisrate that he heard DIG crime branch D G Vanzara telling his junior officer G L Singhal that he had got permission from Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and then Minister of state for Home Amit Shah to eliminate all the suspects including Mumbai girl Ishrat Jahan in a fake encounter, the chargesheet reveals.
Goswami has made this statement before the Additional Judicial Magistrate, Esplanade Court, Mumbai, under section 164 of Criminal Procedure Code.
Goswami's statement is part of the annexures to the chargesheet filed by CBI in an Ahmedabad court on Wednesday.
However, neither Modi nor Amit Shah have been named in the CBI chargesheet.
